Marcus Dotson
Chief Executive Officer
Marcus was previously a Vice President at Calpine Solutions and led the public sector business and structured supply program; providing supply, credit support, working capital, risk management and related services to Retail Energy Providers in deregulated electric and natural gas markets across the U.S.
Marcus joined Sempra Energy Solutions in 2003 as Director of Product Development, and then worked as a Sales Director focusing on large commercial and industrial clients.
Prior to joining Sempra, Marcus led sales, product development, operations and customer care at CMS Energy Marketing and Trading. He was also a Product Manager and Commodity Structuring Manager for Enron Energy Services.
Marcus began his career in 1995 in environmental engineering and transitioned to Chevron Chemical focusing on research and development of new products and process improvement. He also served as Quantitative Analyst with DeWitt, developing trading algorithms, technical analysis and market commentary for a proprietary trading platform.
Overall, Marcus has over 30 years of experience in the energy industry. He earned a B.Sc. Applied Mathematics, and a B.Sc. Biology, minor in Chemistry, from the University of Houston.
